Submissions for SUDO Con

Paper Submissions for Talks I will accept anything you want to write on. if you are selected you will get a panel or a talk on your topic.
The Plan is 3 Tracks , 6-9 talks tota. possibly more if shorter talks on similar subjects they could be doubled up. but right now I'll know better once I see what gets submitted.
because this is a first year con we are trying to keep in a general theme so precedence will be given to papers on: Linux, Art , Security.
but this is still a very broad topic pool.
Tracks would be set up as
  • Novice/ Intro to the topic,.
  • Intermediate
  • Advanced

    • example: The Linux /Open-source track could be :
  • novice : Switching to Linux,BSD, switching to mozilla packages, openoffice for the home and small business
  • intermediate: Shell Scripting, Linux from scratch, open-source PBX, Ruby on Rails....
  • advanced: Hacking your GPS/watch/iPhone to run Linux..

    • If you are chosen to do a talk,please have 20-45 minute talk prepared , leave some time for Q&A.
    I'm open to adding a misc. track 4 if there are some really good out of the box papers or submitted talks/presentations

    Art & Film submissions


      Hacker ART show:

      3 catagories:

      Poster contest . final image can be anything 2-d, Photo's, Canvas , and Prints. max size 50 inch by 50 inch canvas
      IE: something you could frame with a standard frame and hang on the wall.


      Found Object / mixed media Hacker Art. must incorporate technology. size limits will depend on Venue..


      Short Video Contest keep submissions under 10 minutes.

    1. EI: You can do short documentary, sci-fi short, a comedical look at hacking, as long as it has something to do with the hacker community and you can present it PG-13 your good.

      2. Video submissions will be taken on DVD . I'll have NDA written up for your work . In other words we do not assume any rights to your work we are only a venue to show it. If it makes it to a SUDOCon compelation DVD for after the convention, it will be with the artist permision only.
