right now I'm just trying to find space and funding .
even if we do it micro-small.
may be limit it to one day ..and a few talks ..like a larger install fest . although ideally this should be a weekend event .with room in a hotel or convention space.
any suggestions are welcome right now.

iPhone apps are usually written in Objective C, so if you have experience with C, C++ or other C-like languages, then it should be fairly easy to pick up. If not, then you might want to start with an iPhone-targeted web app instead.

I am interested in learning how to program for the iPhone. What would be the Windows language that most closely resembles the iPhone programming language. I would like to write for both Windows machines and iPhones without having to re-learn an entire programming language. ________________ unlock iphone 3gs

I'm new to the Savannah area and it's now home sweet home. I'd love to help out in any way possible.
Thanks,
Codak

it's papers with a presentation on the paper. standard academic submission for the talks, just like they do at Defcon, and blackhat and smoocon
there are 3 Tracks with limited space. Probably going to be 6-9 talks total , possibly more if there shorter talks on similar subjects they could be doubled up. but right now I'll know better once i see what gets submitted.
I'm open to adding a misc. track 4 if there are some really good out of the box papers or submitted talks/presentations
I'd like to have time to have Q&A panels

I'd be happy to help organize talks. I don't have time for most of the other stuff, but I don't mind finding speakers and picking topics.

Do you really want papers or do you just want topics and descriptions? Academic conferences usually require papers and then you basically present the paper. Industry conferences rarely require papers and only want topics and descriptions. I'd be happy to speak about just about anything web-related - from setting up and using Apache, Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, the glories of open source software, web development in general or various other topics... but I don't have time to write a paper on any of them.
I'm geeked about the conference, though! It would be great to have serious nerdfest in Savannah. Geekend was great, but it was kind of design-heavy. I'd love to talk about scaling web sites, memcached, the NOSQL movement or a host of other truly geeky topics!
